Coureur de temps ...

I came to work 12 hours ago, had a sandwich for lunch while reading the news and sending pictures. I ran to take pictures for my master and ran back to work. I am working like crazy but I am afraid I like it. I just need to find more time for my master (and my arabic courses, books to read, documentaries to watch, friends to call, vacation to plan aahahahhahahahahahahah).

In a 5 stars bubble ...

Grognement interieur ...

I've been stuck in a hotel in Khartoum for the last 3 days. I should be happy to have my own room, a clean bed, a shower and a decent internet connection (according to the sudanese standards) but... I need to work. I spent (wasted) the last week with administrative issues, dealing with incompetent or lazy people always trying to bullshit me with stupid excuses. But I need to take pictures! I need pictures I can be satisfied with. I discovered the work of a very talented young Belgian photographer and I have mixed feelings: jealousy and admiration. I know what I want so now the question is "How can I get it ?". Call it naive if you want...

Silence

My heart goes out to the population of Haiti and to my friends and colleagues working for the MINUSTAH. 150 UN staff and tens of thousands of Haitian are currently missing ...
I hope to be able to help soon ...

Tu me fais un massage ? ...

Sweet Disposition [Conditions] by The Temper Trap

Back in my desert. I'm tired. But for once, temperatures are pleasant (25-30°C, colder at night).

In a few words:

Movies:
- Bottle Rocket (1996) by Wes Anderson: Interesting. Not as good as Aquatic Life but being a big fan of Wes Anderson's work ...
- Up in the air (2010) by Jason Reitman : Excellent surprise! And way more creative than I first thought.
- The Proposal (2009) by Anne Fletcher: Entertaining but with a very strong taste of Deja vu.
- The Limits of Control (2009) by Jim Jarmusch: Slow, secret, minimalist and with beautiful music -> Great!
- Gamer (2009): A shit. I felt asleep watching it.
- Inglourious Basterds (2009) by Quentin Tarantino: Surprisingly very good and with great actors.
- Hotel Rwanda (2004) by Terry George: If only it was just a movie. Excellent... unfortunately. And remember to read "Shaking Hands with the Devil" by Romeo Dallaire (former UN FC in Rwanda)

Series:
- Dexter S4: More cynical, more human and more suspense. A must see!
- How I Met Your Mother S5: I still like it but now want it to stop!
- Fringe S2: Very good, mostly due to Walter Bishop's character.

Music:
- IRM by Charlotte Gainsbourg: After a first brilliant album... euh... Zzzzzzz.....

Pardon ...

Snowflake [Live At Roskilde 2007] by Trentemoeller

I'm sorry. My social marathon in Switzerland is over and I didn't see most of you. It is the same frustration each time I'm back in Europe. I run and there is always someone that I can't see or simply forget to call. It doesn't mean you're not important to me. It doesn't mean I don't want to see you/drink/sniff coke/flirt with you. It's just that... I'm running out of time and sometime have to define priorities, against my will (e.g. to fix administrative issues). Next time hopefully...
Take care

Entre ciel et terre ...

Onsen, fat tuna belly, cocktails, snow, friends, music, hugs, beer, food, cold, laughs. I'm closing my eyes, going to my bubble. Same ritual, over and over, before returning to my combat zone.

In 24 hours, I'm in an airplane.
In 2 days, I'm in Darfur.
In 1 week, I start a new Master.
